Miguel:

Miguel has told himself that he has no purpose and he feels useless. He feels dominated by the larger, societal system because they are not helping him find a job. Thus, Miguel internalizes this by sending the message to himself that he must not be useful if no one will hire him.

Alicia:

Alicia's mother is the proposed client in this case because she is the one who has presented to therapy with a problem. Alicia's mother is concerned about Alicia because she does not weigh what other kids her daughter's age do. Alicia's mother has an expectation that because Alicia does not weigh as much as her cohort, then there must be something wrong with her. Alicia, on the other hand, does not feel like there is a problem and she would like her mother to stop fussing about it.
